The mashal for a Golem

I think that this is the most fundamental mashal for the golem. What is it talking about?

There once was once a deep well, full of water that was cold, sweet and good. But there was no one who could drink from it. A person came along who connected many ropes one to another and drew water from the well and everyone else began drawing water as well. In the same way, by moving from one principle to another and from one metaphor to another Shlomo arrived at the secrets (hidden first principles) of Torah. This is what is meant by the statement: "The metaphors of Shlomo son of David- by means of his metaphors he arrived at the principles of Torah.

What does the "ד"ת" at the end stand for?

Thanks.

I have filled it in and given a translation as well, how is that for a deal?

Think of how I connected the zoom to the metaphor of the rock and to the farmer of Sean.

Dear Rabbi Sacks,

This midrash is describing what has been occuring for the last months on the blog. King Shlomo was confronted by a people whose "associative world - view" or the cultural images of the Good - could not [possibly] connect to the mashalim of Torah. He "curricular -ly" linked each careful Mashal one to another so they can "Zoom" both in and out and see those foundational principles in which to see mashlim of Torah in a real way.
He had to make this mashal - exploration himself to find the best "route" to the "Water".

Real Chinuch cannot be achieved as a "one stepper". We have to "Therapeutically" be eased out of each false paradigm - one at a time. Each mashal - revealed another principle in a real life of the student which was then built upon with a succession of mashalim and principles. This is the image of the desirable water = Torah, the ropes and pail = the mashal curriculum, His drinking = Shlomo's understanding, The peoples drinking = using the Shlomo methodology to "attain Torah-mindedness".
